A few brief comments about my work:
Photography has been a passion of mine since my teen years, progressing from a hobby, to a side business while I pursued my Aerospace career, and now full time, since retiring from the engineering world. After accumulating over 25,000 images using 35mm film, I switched over to digital capture around 2005, once I was convinced that digital quality had finally equalled and surpassed that of film.
I am represented by several Photography Agencies, among them Getty Images and Alamy, and have had hundreds of images published in many different books, magazines, websites, newspapers and other media. I also sell my images directly, from this website, and via art shows and gallery exhibitions.
Some of my larger collections and subjects include Aviation, Long Island towns and villages, and various interpretations of ‘fine art’, however my general philosophy is to capture any images that attract my eye due to their color, shape, aesthetic beauty or emotional impact. I strive to show mundane subjects in compelling, sometimes ‘surreal’ ways, and complex subjects in simple ways. Any image that strikes me as having the potential to be appreciated by others, is fair game for my 3 camera bodies and 6 lenses.
The website is a combination of digitally scanned film images and digital originals. My computerized numbering and tracking system let’s me know which is which, as well as providing me with a complete history and accounting of where my images have been licensed or sold, how they were used, and for how long.
Like most photographers, I hope my vision and subject matter is appealing to a wide audience, and that they convey the emotions and feelings that I felt when I pressed the shutter button.
